Adding unique Permaquip Trolley to the Trust’s fleet

The Trust had been aware of these vehicles for several years and in May this year, we were made aware that the Cholsey & Wallingford Railway had deemed theirs to be surplus to their requirements.

Through their connections, the Trust made contact with the C & WR and by the middle of July the C & WR and the Trust had agreed a deal that was acceptable to both sides.

On 10 October 2022, the Tug was moved by Dawson (Structural) Engineering Co. Ltd from Wallingford to the Tanat Valley Light Railway, near Oswestry to join The Rail Trolley Trust – Shropshire Collection.

Unfortunately, neither the C & WR nor the Trust have any technical or operating documentation or paperwork relating to this vehicle, so if anyone can assist in locating or providing any please get in contact with the Trust.

Fund Raising

The Trust has recently launched a significant public fundraising appeal to raise a minimum of £10k and hopefully nearer £20k. This funding will be used to move more of our collection to our two secure locations, provide further suitable storage accommodation for some of our older & more historic vehicles and make some significant progress on several important restoration projects.
